Description
HISTORY AND VINEYARDS:
Quinta da Espinhosa was born from the dream of its founder, Alberto Oliveira Pinto.
Over many years, with the help of his father, José António Lopes, he acquired small properties, which he then annexed, the first of which was his chosen place, ESPINHOSA.
The vineyards are planted between 500 and 600 meters of altitude, with noble grape varieties from the Dão region, as well as very old varieties, some of which are almost residual.
Having been one of the first wineries to produce and bottle under its own brand, it continues today, 5 decades later, to produce high-quality wines, with the elegance and freshness characteristic of the Serra da Estrela Sub-Region.
This wine is the result of a selection of Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz grapes, hand-picked and gently crushed, with total destemming, resulting in a clean, bright, ruby-colored wine with intense and expressive balsamic vegetal aromas of ripe red fruit.
Very balanced on the palate, with round tannins and an elegance that only a red wine born in the Dão region can provide. It pairs well with cured meats or red meats, as well as Serra da Estrela cheese.
